Have you ever done a Google Image search for a project? Chances are, you used a photo that was not available for reuse.

“How do I know if an image from Google is available for reuse?” is a very popular question that I am often asked.

The answer is simple. I’ve outlined the steps below for both computer and mobile searching.

From a Computer

Go to www.google.com. Type in your search words. For this tutorial, I chose ‘fall background”.

Click on the ‘Images’ tab.

Locate the ‘Tools’ button. Click on it.

Click on the ‘Usage rights’ tab. The default option will be ‘Not filtered by license’.

Choose the ‘Labeled for reuse’ tab and continue searching for the perfect image.

From Your Mobile Browser

Go to www.google.com. Click on the ‘Images’ tab.

Type in your search words. For this tutorial, I chose ‘fall background”.

You will see a bar with different options as below, scroll left until you see the ‘Labeled for Reuse’ tab.

Click on the ‘Labeled for reuse’ tab and continue searching for the perfect image.
